CEISCE students' committee organizes an afternoon of workshops for the students of the group on the theme of ''Non-linear analyses of structures subjected to extreme loads''

CEISCE students' committee organized an afternoon of workshops for the students of the group on the theme o'f ''Nonlinear analysis of structures subjected to extreme loads'' at the Department of Civil Engineering and Applied Mechanics at McGill University. The afternoon consisted of 8 presentations by students from Sherbrooke, McGill and Concordia Universities as well as from Polytechnique Montréal, on the structural safety of hydraulic structures, wind loads on buildings, and seismic design of steel structures. An introductive session on Latex and Beamer tools for creating scientific reports and presentations was also offered. The afternoon of workshops was a real success with more than 40 participants from all the member universities of the cluster. It was concluded by an afterwork at the 3 Brasseurs bar, allowing the exchange of knowledge and experiences between participants.
