Recognized for his outstanding contributions in teaching, research and professional practice, Pierre Léger, a tenured professor in the Department of Civil, Geological and Mining Engineering at Polytechnique Montréal, has been elected as a fellow of the Canadian Academy of Engineering. Fellows of the Academy are nominated and elected by their peers on the basis of outstanding achievement and long service to the engineering profession. The Canadian Academy of Engineering is the national organization through which Canada's most senior and experienced engineers provide strategic advice on issues of critical importance to the country. The Academy is an independent, not-for-profit organization founded in 1987.
