Pooneh Maghoul, CEISCE member, and Professor in the Department of Civil, Geological and Mining Engineering at Polytechnique Montréal, received the Honoris Genius Award in the category “Research or Engineering Education” from Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ). This award recognizes engineers who distinguish themselves through excellence and their contribution to the advancement of the profession. Prof. Maghoul is recognized for her work in multiscale poromechanics and complex materials, and for developing solutions to support durable and resilient infrastructure in the context of climate change and georisks, particularly in northern and extreme environments.
